If Having a valid passport would make finding work in another country esier? Any Easier?

Question:
I Was Born In Adelaide Then My Parents Moved To The Uk (my Mother Was Also Born In Aus). I Applied And Rec'd My Aus Passport And Now My Family And I Are Now Considering Moving To Aus. Just Wanted To Know If Having This Would Make The Process Any Easier? My Husband Has Got A Class 1 Hgv License And Really Wants To Carry On With A Driving Career. How Would This Work In Aus,where Is The Best Places To Look For Work.

Answer:
Yes it should make the process easier. Just one question - have you got British citizenship, if so how did you obtain it (eg by descent from your father?). If you obtained (as an adult) a Certificate of Registration or Naturalisation as a British citizen before 4 April then you will have lost your Australian citizenship and will have to apply to get it back and meet certain requirements. Just obtaining a British passport will not have caused any problems. Assuming you're still Australian: You - get a new Australian passport if yours is expired. http://www.australia.org.uk Children - register them as Australian citizens by descent (then get them Australian passports): http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/118.pdf

Husband: Apply for a spouse visa at the AHC London. http://www.immi.gov.au has details. He may well be eligible for a permanent visa straight away and then can become Australian himself after 2 years in Australia.

If you got British citizenship automatically from your father and never applied for it, then you have not got a problem with your Australian citizenship.
