Question:
I am looking a referral for an immigration
attorney in the East Bay California,
Conord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill
areas. I am not currently happy
with my present lawyer and wonder
if anyone here has had good experiences
with an attorney in this part of
the Bay Area. All help VERY welcome
Answer:
.Try http://www.google.com/search?q=immigration+attorney+walnut+creek&sour...
or try http://aila.org. But warning
they are just a referral service,
sorta like 1-800-DENTIST. They will
refer you to immigration attorneys
in your area but there is no guarantee
other than that they will be AILA
members. I had a few referrals from
them - mostly bad. YMMV.
In any case
you will be dealing with San Francisco
CIS and most Bay Area Immigration
Types are in the City. I'm a firm
believer in giving credit where
credit is due. IOW if somebody does
a good job for you then you should
say so and mention them by name.
I'd bet many people agree with that
statement.
Going right
along with however I also believe
the converse should also be true,
which is, if somebody does a bad
job for you then you should say
so and mention them by name also.
Many people simply don't. I've never
understood that reluctance. We all
want good referrals and indeed that's
is exactly what you seek. We also
want warnings to keep away from
those who do not perform well. So
why should they be protected? I
just don't get it.
There is another
immigration attorney who frequents
this forum on occasion. Matt Udall,
Esq. currently practices in the
Pasadena area of California. However,
Mr. Udall prior to his move worked
in the San Francisco area. Mr. Udall
represents clients from all over
the country and/or world and will
accept clients from the forum on
occasion. If you accept the fact
that he would not be within a short
drive from you and if he is willing
to accept your case then perhaps
it might be a very good match for
you both.
