Question:
What documents are required by the consulate (regarding his stay in
US) for consular processing?
This question is for a friend of mine ad his wife. They are gonna go
for US Green Card Consular processing in Canada.
He was in US for 3 and half years on H1b ,due to the bad ecomony,he
couldnt get project from end of 2001 onward until mid of 2003 so
bascially he was out of job for about a year or so and couldn't file
tax returns etc for the year 2002 and year 2003.He filed for Canadian
immigration and got the apporval in 2002 and moved to canada in end of
2003.
Answer:
Now he is getting married this weekend to girl who is Canadian
immigrant but working in US and that company has filed for the her US
Green card, and they will go for consular processing in US consulate in
Canada for the Green Card after they get married .So they have this
question ,what documents from the guys side will be required show
when they will go for consular processing. Will he be asked to show
paystub or tax returns of US etc.
What documents are required by the consulate (regarding his stay in
US) for consular processing.
Though DCF in Canada couldn't be done, or am I missing something?
Although nothing to inform/share with you ,but kneenly interested to
know
the developments in your case.
Is your friend's husband getting his green card as well as from his
wife's application for residency? If so they need to bring proof of
their marriage the same as any person who is adjusting status based on
marriage. As well the wife who is eligible for a green card based on
employment must bring to the Consulate all the documentation required to
show that there is a job available for her at the time she enters the
US, that the company is willing to still employ her, what the salary
will be, a labor certificate, etc. I'm sure the employer has an
attorney who has done all the filing and he/she is the one that should
be advising your friend of all that is required to ensure that she has
the appropriate documentation for the interview at the US Consulate.
This "story" doesn't make much sense. Is this a troll?
First: neither the friend or the friend's wife are American.
Second: I believe DCF is not possible from Canada.
Not necessarily. One can apply for a green card through employment
without first having worked a day on the job. Strange I know. And yes,
the processing would be done at the US Consulate aboard.
