Question:
Government immigration rules?
Answer:
RULE 1
Strict immigration rules mean that the number of immigrants is
very small.
RULE 2
(If no riots are occurring)
The commonsense of the British people welcomes immigration with
the exception of a few extremists who have the wrong facts.
(If riots are occurring)
The current very localised problems are not typical of the
excellent race relations which exist in Britain.
Listening to Radio 5 last night, one of the guests reckoned (while lamenting
about the lack of positive discrimination in parliament) that the census
will show that the ethnic % will have grown from 6% in 1991 to 11% 2001.
Uhm, 95% increase.
A Government spokesman writes:
Any increase in the census figures for ethnics are mostly the
result of undercounting last time owing to justified ethnic fears
of racist forms issued by the Tories. The actual increases in
numbers are a most encouraging example of how Britain is
developing as a multiracial society which most people will
welcome and illustrate how alarmist predictions are entirely
unjustified. Britain has one of the strictest immigration control
systems in the world and the numbers of unresolved asylum cases
are falling rapidly since the election of Labour.
At the current rate the census is going to be unreliable. 3 million unreturned
forms according to the latest reports: just what are those being paid to get the
forms doing?
Makes sense. How many kids have you got? Personally I have two which
means my family has grown 100% in the past 6 years.
In my opinion, race relations are getting worse, not better.
Very good observation mate. This null labour establishment however care
to believe the opposite though!
Because of, or in spite of the actions of this gvt???
Because the government are playing a very cynical game of divide and rule,
while the very last thing their equally control-freaking crony placemen in
the various agencies would want to happen is a shortfall of excuses for
their empires to bask in government patronage.
There was an interesting article in Friday's Times media section
saying that reporting the news fairly is not sufficient - hence
the petrol bomb attack on the Oldham Chronicle. Then some weasel
words which amounted to "Grovel to immigrants newspapers or you
know what you will get".
You don't know what they believe. You have only some idea of what they
say. As ever, remember that what is said is also part of reality.
When racists cry "race war is inevitable", they are making a
self-fulfulling prophecy. IS that what they want? One has to assume so
I think to a certain extent, because of. I said a couple of years ago that I
also feel the CRE actually stirs racism up, it doesn't help it, and I still
think there is truth in that.
Obviously this is just my personal view from my experience, but I can see race
relations getting a lot worse before they get better.
One claim I notice quite a lot is that some people say that "other races want
to change things and don't want to integrate", and personally I think that this
perception is the most important to change.
Listen to all their lip service over immigration, race and asylum and throw
in quite a few a pointers to suggest race relations is improving!
In reality the CRE is a very very small organisation, with a budget of
little more then £16 million. It seems to have enormous ability to interfere
in public life though.
This is essentially 'multiculturalism', do we want this, resulting in above?
Or do we want a multiracial integrationist ethos, were people are encouraged
to be respectful and tolerant of others.
Gaz
There will NEVER be multi-curtural harmony in this country - whether I am
one to object to ethnics or not........there's lots of people out there who
feel the same as me!
But this is measured against the contemporaneous population grown of the
indigenous population! So it does not make the sort of sense you mean;-)
