Question:
GREEN CARD FEVER?
Answer:
Those who see the various messages from supposedly "hellish"
experiences at various Indian consulates.
Go see or rent the movie "Green Card Fever" and you'll understand why
the consular officers are so careful and incorrectly viewed as
"unfair"...
Indians who are motivated, will try ANYTHING to get that green card,
and the easiest ways are either getting to theh USA on a travel visa
or even better, getting a fiancee/spouse.. That's the new "gold rush".
This is especially true of the men there - the smart ones all got here
on their own to get a good US education and used the employer
sponsorship route to the REAL American dream.
Nonsense.... The legitimacy of a marriage should not be based on whether
the couple followed old style Indian cultural norms. They should not
have to be denied at the interview and wait several more months (or
longer), involve Congressmen, or hire attorneys to wade through the
cause of the delay simply because they decided to not have a large
family wedding, or because the woman might have been married in the past.
What type of Indians are we talking about here? Dots, or feathers?
I think think it is odd they are called "Native Americans".
There was no America when they came here
There was no America when they came here
Just calling them Indians is confusing, as you can tell from
BritishInOhio's post. However, calling them "Redskins" is downright
insulting (as least to me since I'm one quarter Native American).
I've heard some call them AmerIndians..but we digress from the
original topic...
To me, as long as a couple loves each other, that's all that matters.
I'm in agreement with MrT as well on this; jumping through so many hoops
just to be together just isn't right.
Ehm... I think the OP meant Indians from India (not OH Indians :D ).
They did call Native Americans Indians because Christopher Columbus
intended to go to India and "accidentally" ran into the American
continent, I believe.
That is because someone got lost
It isn't what they would call themselves.
As with just about all your posts, you prove to be a complete moron. No
one should base their views on a movie. Nor should anyone be stupid
enough to base their views of an entire race of people by a singluar
point. Thank god that people like you make up a very small percentage of
people on this planet. Please go back under your rock...
He really is quite vicious isn't he? Self loathing I'd say, it sounds
like he feels so inferior he's turning it against his own countrymen.
Sad really.
I'm with Scott. We've known this idiot for a while here. Just another
name to add to the list of people to ignore.
yeah.. that's why more than 270 people read the post moron !
Fact is nobody likes to deal with the truth - or are complete idiots
ignorant (unlike me) of the situation in Indian consulates...
For example, a recent issue (sept I believe) of the Indian equivalent
of TIME+National Enquirer has a whole article on visa fraud JUST TO
GET TO THE USA.
People pay upto $ 20,000 (in a land where per capita annual income is
less than $ 1,000) to get a passport with a tourist visa stamped in
it- they change the picture just to get their butts to the US of A..
Of course they can't leave once they get here, but they make it to
"America" the land of dreams !
So before you spout off in the future, KNOW your facts you moron -
about Indians and visa fraud ( marriage based or otherwise)
If you have never stepped near that country best you keep your mouth
(or other orifices) SHUT !!!
It would seem to me that most people, including myself read your post
due to the title alone, "Green Card Fever". A catchy title indeed and
could have led into a very interesting topic. However, the people who
posted to the thread seem to all take the stance that you are a pure
idiot, me included. Is it possible that we all contribute to this sort
of posting out of the same intrigue and lore that one would visit the
circus? Perhaps to see the freaks, oddities and clowns that may have
similar characteristics to you?
"Fact is nobody likes to deal with the truth - or are complete idiots
ignorant (unlike me) of the situation in Indian consulates..."
Far from fact, but more your opinion.. Most people in general wish to
deal with the, "Truth". Humans have free will to decide for themselves
what is truth and what is fiction. Their have been many posting in this
forum of successful and happy stories of successful relationship between
Indian and American couples that not only prove you wrong, but verify
what we all know that you are in fact, "Ignorant".
"For example, a recent issue (sept I believe) of the Indian equivalent
of TIME+National Enquirer has a whole article on visa fraud JUST TO
GET TO THE USA."
Does this mean that the story about the, "Bat Boy" is true? What about
the half sheep, half human girl? Was Elvis taken by aliens? Does this
singular article/issue have any credibility that would lead a rational
person to form an opinion based on fact, research and solid balanced
investigation? Do you believe the bat boy story to be true?
"People pay upto $ 20,000 (in a land where per capita annual income is
less than $ 1,000) to get a passport with a tourist visa stamped in
it- they change the picture just to get their butts to the US of A.."
People pay a lot of money to come to America from a verity of countries.
There is a lot of fraud all of the world. I am sure that there is much
in India, as there is in the Philippines, Mexico, Pakistan, crap, I
really cant think of another country where there isn't. This however,
does not mean that everyone, or even the majority of people seeking
marriage related visa's are doing so for fraudulent reasons. To think so
would in and of itself prove to be a sign of ignorance and idiocy. But
then again, look at whop the poster of this thread is.
Of course they can't leave once they get here, but they make it to
"America" the land of dreams !
Only thing you have ever said that would show you have an IQ higher than
5, "America is the land of dreams".
"So before you spout off in the future, KNOW your facts you moron -
about Indians and visa fraud ( marriage based or otherwise)"
Facts are pretty clear, as just about ever poster has pointed out in one
way or another. Everyone here seems to think that you are an asshole,
rude and about as intelligent as anyone who would base their own fact or
opinion on the Indian version of the "National Inquirer". But then to
your defense, I am sure that all members of British Expats are surprised
that you can read.
