My girlfriend and me want to get working visas or green cards for USA, and we would like to know what would be our easiest bet if we're both currently living in Sweden, me being a Swedish citizen but she's a UK citizen.

I understand I can apply for a green card, but what about my girlfriend? We're not married, so would there be any problems for her applying for a green card too?

You cannot just apply for a Green Card. You must have some basis to apply - either, a job, or some close family member in the US. Or, being from Sweden, you can also try to win a GC in the annual visa lottery. If you get married, she can also participate in the lottery (doubling your chances) even though she is a UK citizen.

IF you can apply for a GC yourself, you can bring your wife - but not your girlfriend - with you. In other words, you must be married at the point when you are actually getting your GC.

As a general rule, working visas are applied for by the employer rather than you.
