H1B->Green Card, BUT keep UK working rights? Asking too much?
Question:

As a Brit considering working and relocating to the US, the prospect of getting an H1B and then applying for a green card sounds very tempting.

However, if I get my green card, does that mean I'm no longer a British Citizen, no longer allowed to live permanently in the UK, and no longer allowed to work in the UK without a permit?

Is there any way to stay a British citizen, but get a green card so working in the US isnt such a pain in the ass?

Answer:

No, it doesn't.

Yes. You won't lose any rights as a British citizen.

I am not British myself, but I doubt that someone would loose his rights because he/she get a GC.

Basically, in most of the countries of th EU, you never loose your original nationality.

Maybe getting US citizenship would make things different. Even though, I guess you would have double nationality and therefore 2 passports.

A "green card" is permanent residence, not citizenship. Losing one's original citizenship this way would make one a stateless person, permanent resident of the US.

Not for British people.

Yes, you would.

Yes, that what I am saying.
