Question:
I have applied for canadian immigration through Neirobi Consulate around 2
years back. Now I have recieved visa Interview call. I got married a year
back and have kid. Should I mention to canadian Immigration officer that I
got married ? Can I take my wife with me to consulate and apply for their
immigration or should I sponsor after going to canada.
Answer:
Not only can you - you must report your marriage and the birth of your
child to the visa officer. It would be a grave error not to do so.
I currently reside in Mexico under an FM3 visa which allows me to
remain in the country for up to year without the right to work. I
telecommute everyday to a company in the US and recently wanted to
visit a friend in Vancouver Canada. I went to the Canadian Embassy,
submitted all required paperwork, proof of income (3K US per month) and
all my paperwork issued by the Mexican Authorities. From the outset,
the visa office to whom I turned in my paperwork wrote on the form I
turned in "Home Alome" wife and childre Mexican. I was then
interviewed by another person (Mexican-Canadian) in both Spanish and
English, he checked out our company`s web site, and who knows what else
and told me that he thought that he didn`t feel that teh company I work
for was a serious company and that he felt my intent was to stay in
Canada. He said, that he also felt that I would qualify for a visa if
I showed them an American (US Visa) he would then grant me the Canadian
Visa. I am from El Salvador and he also inquire if I was a pursued
person and if I had ever been in any kind of political trouble in my
home country I said no. In April of 2000 I will become a Mexican
Citizen and will then not require a visa to travel to Canada (although
I don`t know if I will after teh bitter taste they left me in my
mouth.) Can you please tell me why this type of discrimination goes
on again people from countries other than the US or Mexico? I am a
graduate of the State University of New York, earn good money, and did
not intend on staying in Canada.
I have received a call for interview for
Canadian immigration. I am a Software developer.
I had applied 2 years back and meanwhile I went
on a Trip organized by tours company to Singapoor
there they lost my passport. When I came back the
same company applied for my new passport without
reporting my old passport lost story. When I
applied for Canadian immigration I had that old
passport No. now I have my new passport when I
will be going for my interview. Will it be a
problem?
I would appreciate your help, how should
I handle my this situation for my interview which
is in Feb. I am Indian and my interview is in
Delhi.
Can you give me an idea about what kind of
questions they ask? for how long this interview
goes and etc?
Simply present your new passport at the interview and the change will be
noted.
