Question:
A US Citiz wanting to move to BC needs a very professional and top
immigration expert to help me and my friend. I think we have the points
to move as skilled workers.
I will pursue all suggestions you give and talk to those lawyers. Its
important that he/she be from a resourceful law firm which specialises
in this field, as I see so many bogus ones advertising.
Answer:
If you are following this forum for quite a while as you claim then
you should know Andrew Miller (Vancouver) and Jim Humphries (Victoria)
- both are top notch experts practicing in BC and contributing to this
forum for many years. Why won't you ask them directly?
Well, I emailed Jim Humpries and mail returned to me, I think I did
something wrong. I read what Andrew Miller writes everyday, but I would
never use such a rude and condescending person ever to help me.
Any other lawyers you guys have dealt with ? Thanks Dana for the matrix
firm, I left their BC office a message this afternoon, lets see....:)
Well, you can try to research canada's top law firms and most of them have
the best immigration attorneys. they are more expensive as you can imagine,
but thats a decision you have to make of what you can afford. I would do it
that way if I had the money than use a cheap option,,,as an american it
shudnt be that hard to do that anyway, I feel.
Sadly there are immigration lawyers and consultants who have done bad
jobs for people. The consultants who post in this group, except for a
very few who have been previously identified, all have good reports.
In general, you do not need a lawyer's services to immigrate to Canada
(unlike going to the US) unless you've got problems like a criminal
record, or have had other problems with CIC.
I would seriously suggest that you contact any of the consultants who
regularly post in here ... I'm sure that if they feel your case really
does need legal assistance they would refer you.
do you know any good law firms in Canada,
based out of Canada ? I think I can afford to pay them if they are not
abnormal. Some are also suggesting I do it myself but having my own
business its really busy. I am in Boston and have visited my cousins &
some family in BC and would love to move there, my work is not location
specific, and plus I also love to ski. I am getting ready to send my
papers as soon as I can find that right & bright lawyer. :)
...I am a big New England patriots fan,,,and HU alumni,,,
Well I have used Blakes.com for many of my needs,,,beyong immigration issues
for my family.
BC is undoubtedly beautiful,,,it will be very different from Boston
though,,socially, weather, as well aseconomically I mean
It is your choice of course. But what made you think that Andrew's
posts are rude?
Blunt on many occasions for sure, but not rude.
He may from time to time used more of his "bluntness" when replying to
trolls attacking him and calling him names, but they are the ones who
usually set the tone of the thread.
Then you have posters who lie through their teeth and look for help in
making a fraudulent application - I don't expect Andrew or any other
expert to be politically correct with such posters.
Finally - Andrew's expertise is well proven and we are here for his
and others expertise, not for moral support or empty promises of some
miracles.
Those looking for moral support who are offended by short and blunt
but down to the point answers should probably join different forum -
like "immigrants anonymous" or something similar...
i'll throw my 2 cents in and say I had a wonderful experience with
Abrams & Krochak. www.akcanada.com
i've said this more than a couple times in this newsgroup though.
hehe. good people.
