Question:
I am a Canadian Citizen living in
Ontario. My girlfriend and I have
been together for the past 3 years.
The big thing though is that she
lives in Ohio. We are deeply in
love have discussed this and eventually
we wish to be married, eventually
with her coming up to live with
me as my Wife here in Ontario (or
Canada). I am not sure where I will
eventually end up living.
I am currently
studying to be a Computer systems
Engineer as the field is in need
of this type of skilled labour.
By applying myself I am eventually
100% guaranteed a very well paying
job. I had planned after graduating
to swing down to the states and
surprise my Girlfriend by proposing
to her (she keeps dropping hints
about when she'll be getting that
"ring"d...we both know eventually
I will propose to her.) The information
I am looking for if what path we
(or I) will have to take to eventually
make this happen.
As it turns
out I do not think we will have
the opportunity to live together
after I propose, I may have to settle
down further into my job and find
a place to live, as of this moment
I am not sure of what that part
of my future will hold. I want to
know if someone out here can help
me by outlining the steps I will
have to take and/or go through to
initiate the process of my future
fiance eventually living with me
here in Canada Is there anything
she has to do or get done on her
end? to fascinate her moving up
to Canada .
Are there
any forms I must fill out? What
are the processes? Are there any
application fees? What Timelines
must I follow with forms, procedures,
applications? Who Do I have to contact?
What if any Visas?? I have all these
good intentions and do not want
anything jumping out infront of
us and keeping us apart any longer
than we have been already...(we
are both willing to spend as long
as it needs to finally be together..but
still...) I cannot think of anything
else that I need to ask so I'm leaving
it up to someone who actually knows
100% what I must do.
Answer:
That is a matter to be taken up
with Canadian immigration authorities.
Although this site is devoted to
U.S. immigration there are many
who regularly monitor the site who
may have expertise in Canadian immigration.
Is there
anything she has to do or get done
on her end? to fascinate her moving
up to Canada Not from the perspective
of U.S. immigration law. Incidentally,
any children yo may have will be
dual citizens of the U.S. and Canada
regardless of where they are born.
Are there
any forms I must fill out? What
are the processes? Are there any
application fees? What Timelines
must I follow with forms, procedures,
applications?Who Do I have to contact?What
if any Visas?? All good questions,
but they involve Canadian immigration
procedures. As a first step why
don't you see the canadian immigration
web site at "http://cicnet.ci.gc.ca/".
