Question:
I'm an Indonesian citizen currently living in the US on a work visa.
I'm thinking about studying for a Master's degree in Canada. Can
anyone tell me what the process of getting a student visa would be
like for me? Would they suspect the intention to immigrate? I do
have relatives in Canada.
On another note, what does one have to do to just study French in
Canada? Is a student visa needed in this case?
Answer:
You would need to find a university first where you want to study. They have
to except you before student visa/immigration process start.
Canadian Immigration and USA Immigration are slightly different in this way.
In Canada, if you stay student for even 5 years, you will not automatically
become an immigrant. For student visa they would like to confirm funds and
admission most of the time and by all means your intention.
