what happens ? 551 stamp is no good ? Could person travel with new
passport and show stamp in old passport ( if they can keep old passport ) ?

If 751, Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence is approved,
applicant makes apppointment with immigration. If all is well, a 551
stamp will be put in passport.
Problem, passport will expire and will take time to get new one.
If the passport is about to expire you will get the stamp on an I-94
card. Why did you wait so long to apply for a new passport?
USCIS takes away I-94 when they approve AOS interview, dont they in
all cases?
Not all offices stamp any longer.
Yes, they usually take the I-94 at the AOS interview. They'll stamp it
on a new I-94 if you go in the for the I-751 stamp.

Rete, I don't think there is an I-94 in passport. Do you mean they
will put stamp on a new I-94 ? and applicant can then travel with this
stamp and the new passport when it is issued.
The 751 approval letter has not arrived yet - expected in january.
meem - if you got stamp on expired passport, that may be ok for work
authorisation, but what if you want to travel ?
